Nido und Nacpan waren abgehakt. Um mich vollends von Palawan und einer eventuellen Rückkehr zu überzeugen, verbrachten wir unsere letzten Tage in Port Barton. Man fährt gute drei Stunden von El Nido und biegt irgendwann in der Nähe von San Vicente auf eine unbefestigte Straße ab. Die letzten Kiliometer verlaufen durch den Urwald, man kann wortwörtlich die Bananen aus dem Fenster pflücken. Aber halt, auch hier sind die Bauarbeiter am werkeln….die Straße wird gebaut und Port Barton dann entscheidend verändern…aber noch ists richtig schön!!!!!!

Wir hielten am zentralen Busbahnhof, mitten in einer staubigen Straße, zahlten unsere Tourismusabgabe und zogen los, zum nördlichen Ende von Port Barton.

Dort warteten unsere Cassandra Cottages auf uns, die wohl schönste und urigste Anlage während unseres Philippinen Urlaubs.

Bambushütte mit Stil, eigener Garten, eigener Schlüssel und man beachte die Waschschüssel für die Sandpfötchen vom Strand. Es war ein Traum, mit tollen  Sonnenunergängen vor dem Haus

Port Barton ist noch sooo verschlafen, der Ort hat das Ambiente eines 50er Jahre Ferienortes, es gibt nur Sandwege, ein paar Hunde, Katzen und Ähnliches streunt dort herum.

Überraschenderweise scheint der Ort ein kleines Refugium von Israelis, Australiern und  Deutschen zu sein, Asiaten sah man gar nicht mehr und auch die gelben Rettungswesten waren somit verschwunden.

Tja und was treibt man so den ganzen Tag in Port Barton? Neben dem obligatorischen Sonnenbad am Strand ( Achtung, auch hier Sandflöhe) gibt es natürlich auch die verschiedensten Island Hopping Touren.

Wir entschlossen uns, nochmal für einen Vormittag aufs Wasser zu gehen und nach Schildkröten zu schnorcheln. Dabei besuchten wir das zauberhafte German Island. Eine Miniinsel, ungefähr 40 min. vom Ort entfernt- mein Paradies…..und wir hatten es mal wieder mehr oder weniger für uns allein.

Es gibt noch eine 90 minütige Wanderung von Port Barton zu einem Wasserfall, auf die wir aufgrund des zu heißen Wetters verzichteten, gerne beim nächsten Mal.

Unser Fazit zur Port Barton: Unglaubliches Urlaubsfeeling, schöne Unterkünfte, nette Atmosphäre, nur Individualtouristen, ausreichende Infrastruktur, inkl. 3-5 gute Restaurants.

Allerdings muss erwähnt werden, dass nach Vollendung der Straße der kleine, zuckersüße Ort aus seinemDornröschenschlaf erwachen wird….ach Port Barton, bleib doch noch ein wenig so:
